Disappointment over Dead Island

UPDATE: @CrazyChris basically changed my opinion in a single link. While that link doesn't show footage of the intimate and soul-searing zombie game I originally wanted in Dead Island, it does show footage of a cool first-person zombie melee game with a lot of RPG elements tacked on. So long as I don't have to save in a bathroom, that looks like it could be fun. The animation in that trailer doesn't look nearly as terrible. As a commenter below noted, the tone is all wrong for the game the trailer had me hoping for, but damn if the game in the link a few lines up doesn't look fun as hell. 
 
Original entry: I remember watching the amazing Dead Rising trailer back in February and getting really excited about the game. It had mostly fallen off my radar until I started poking around in Steam, and WOW does that game look stupid. The characters in the newest gameplay trailers have that half-animated action figure look, and Deep Silver hired bad actors to speak the boring dialog they wrote. I don't think there's much hype surrounding this game, but it sure looks like it's going to be terrible.
