As games have recently gone way up in price in Canada, I'm so glad that I can get this deal, as it equals out to roughly a normal $60 CDN, instead of the $80 it should be here.
It's supposed to play better, so I'm on board. More polish than the past games is what has me interested. I've never been able to get into any Bethesda RPG, because of how boring the moment to moment gameplay is. Creating your own story is awesome, but I can't stand the walk-backwards-and-try-to-actually-land-a-shot combat. Also, VATS has been, and always will be boring to me.
I have a high end rig, and have played the prettiest of the post-apocalypse (Metro, Rage) and I think this looks absolutely fine. Though I can largely attribute that to the colour, and DENSITY of colour. The past Fallout games used their limited colour palette effectively to create an atmosphere, but I'm ready for something different. Change is good! Even if it's not pulled off perfectly, I'll at least appreciate that changes seem to be happening.
My heart sank when I read this. Best of luck Patrick. I'm sad you're not going to be at Giant Bomb as much anymore, but I hope whatever you do makes you happy! (And provides me with fun stuff to watch/read/listen to etc.)
