I was surprised to see Super Eyepatch Wolf make a top ten on Giant Bomb. He's one of my favorite internet personalities. I'm very excited to hear he's doing a podcast.
Hey, let me give you something to think about before you make a post about Abby and God of War. She very plainly said it's the best game she's played so far this year.
This guide is great and easy to follow. I've never owned Rock Band and i've been trying to find a new bundle but the price on those is pretty high now. This plus a guitar bundle seems like maybe a cheaper alternative. Thanks for taking the time to write it up.
I am one of the people crazy enough to identify Persona 4 as my favorite game ever. I am probably the opposite of most here as I only found out about Giant Bomb because I love Persona 4 so much, and found out about the Endurance Run as it was winding down. And I can tell you that Persona 5 did not top Persona 4.
That definitely doesn't make Persona 5 a disappointment. Persona 5 is fantastic, and it's weird how hard it is to tell people that without writing 3 pages of conflicting messages. This game threads some weird needles involving nostolgia and expectations, evolving your gameplay and staying faithful to your roots, and giving people what they want vs. giving people what they think they want. This game came real close to being the best in the series, and this is a crazy compliment to give it, but I definitely respect it more than Persona 4. This game is nuts because they reeeaally went for it. Sure it stumbles in places, but from top to bottom it is amazingly consistent in its misfit outcasts turned rebels aesthetic. Turning away from the happy and light tone of 4 that brought so much success to the series to pursue this darker punk tone that keeps the story true to itself both in and out of fiction is insanely bold. So while I don't consider it a disappointment, I can see how it happens.
This game is probably going to go down as the MGS2 of the Persona series.
Remember when Activision said, "Does anyone out there want to buy a half-developed sequel to True Crime? All it needs is a little TLC... and maybe another year or so of development. We weren't really happy with the quality of it. And it's budget got out of control. You'll probably need to invest some money into it too. Oh, Square Enix I thought I saw you raise your hand. You're interested in buying it? Like, for real? We should mention that the hot True Crime IP does not come with what we're selling, so you'll have to build and market this new thing yourself. Ok, it's cool that you're still interested. It's a deal then. By the way the development studio just fired 120 people because we stopped supporting this project a few months ago."
While Sleeping Dogs didn't directly change developer's hands, this game went through some shit and still managed to come out the other side in a great state.
Also, I know I made fun of True Crime, but I kinda like those games, Snoop Dogg unlocks and all.
