There are so many dumb people in this thread who thinks that because it doesn't have games (it's not even out yet) it won't succeed. Have any of you considered the fact that no new consoles actually have a lot of games? A new PlayStation will have 7-10 launch titles or some bullshit like that. Completely worthless. Following this trail of logic it becomes immediately apparent that no new console could ever succeed. Oh, but they're backwards compatible you say? Well, Ouya is Android and it'll play all the games we know from our phones, which will gain it traction enough for developers to consider it. It also smoothly emulates the N64, all the gameboys, the PS1 and anything older than this pretty much. It will run your DOS games too. But the main purpose of the platform isn't to play Angry Birds or old games even though it can. This thing is equipped with a Tegra 3, which makes the graphics processor significantly more capable than the Xbox 360 or the WiiU, and the price is very low and the entire thing is based on free software. This console will play games with graphics you'd except from a TV console, with a controller like any other, but at an insane price point. This chip is fast enough play games like Galaxy on Fire 2, Infinity Blade Dungeons, and it looks like the launch titles will be a lot of indie games, and don't come and tells me that indie games can't look awesome. They can and some of them do.

Ishayu approves this thread. However, we need to give a fair warning and rate it R for Restr- I mean Ryan.

No DRM, i.e. no barrier for pirates, is often used as an advertisement. And it works! Why? Because the pirate won't be affected, only the guy sitting in a dark room and getting a kick out of breaking it is affected positively and the legit customers are affected negatively. Remember that DRM is by definition an anti feature. It's a deliberate attempt from the publisher to make the program cease to function and it is frankly a completely unnecessary pain in the ass, nothing more to say. The Witcher 2 sold several million copies and there is no DRM on it.

How not to run a company: 1) Make a bad port with poor controls and performance and try to sell it at full price. 2) Add game breaking anti-features to said port in the form of drm, forcing legitimate customers to pirate to play what they paid for (if they did, a lot are put off already here) 3) Whine about people attaining better versions of your products by 'stealing' them. 4) Think it is a general problem with the consumer base because you can't run the business properly, i.e. blame the customer. 5) Lose all your sales as you continue to insist on implementing said anti features. 6) Leave the business with a shamefully stupid, bitter smirk on your face. Bye Ubi, we won't miss you. Please stay the hell out of the PC all you like, it doesn't change a thing for me anyway because I haven't bought or pirated a single one of your games since Heroes 5 in 2007, and I won't buy another, even for consoles, until you get customer relations right. This is like selling rotten fruit at a grocery store and when people complain you stop selling fruits because people start growing fruit in their backyards instead. Bug report: new line from iOS doesn't work.

Didn't find this game mentioned anywhere on the site. Oil Rush is a game developed by the guys at UniCorp, who made for example the Unigine Heaven Benchmark. (First DirectX 11 benchmark in the world, I'm sure you PC guys remember it :P )

I own it for Linux but it doesn't have that many players because they haven't marketed it that well for people who don't use Linux. Thus, 90% of their pre-orders are from Linux users and as we all know that aren't many Linux gamers due to the infamous viscous circle that is poor support -> few games -> poor support. The game is for PC, Mac, Linux and PS3, however.

It's a pretty fun little RTS that does things quite differently than any RTS I've played so far, and it has amazing graphics. I just thought I'd bring it to your attention. :P

It's still in beta though, but go take a look: http://oilrush-game.com

And now that my first order of business is done, a Gamespot fan since 2002 finally switches over to a registered GB account. Been lurking the site for years though! :P Current Gamespot is just bleh compared to this if I may take that liberty. Nothing really quite matches the wit and sharpness of the old Gamespot editorial team.
