Therapeutic gaming

OK, I play all the new stuff - Batman, Battlefield, Uncharted, etc. The games that make me feel completely relaxed and content are ones that seem antiquated and simple. Recently I've delved into Harvest Moon (Wii VC) and Animal Crossing (Wii). Both exercise redundant activities, but somehow enthrall me in a way that current games cannot. Simple actions like planting turnips or decorating my house convey a sense of accomplishment. Is this nostalgia clouding my judgement, or are these reiterating chores the reason why I NEED to plant one more crop? Either way, I'll pass on the most recent graphical upgrade and endeavour in the mindless task of pulling weeds. This train of thought can definitively be expanded upon. Does anyone else feel these simplicities outweigh complexity?
