Games I would recommend
Fairly simple list, just a mishmash of various games that I like. This is my first attempt at making a list on the site, so it may not work properly or something like that.
These are games I have played, btw.

Half Life mixed with Stalker mixed with Russian literature. Can't go wrong there.

A genuine attempt telling a different kind of story in a game and telling it in a different way.
Runs poorly on most machines though.

Machinarium is definitely the prettiest game on this list. But the gameplay is also fun, and it's a game full of love and heart.

Loosely based on the book Roadside Picnic and the film Stalker, the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games have been fairly unique games with a great atmosphere but plagued by bugs and poor gameplay decisions. This is the best and most stable on yet.

My favorite Silent Hill game.

While the english translation is terrible, and the graphics are outdated, and the gameplay is incredibly slow (and there's plenty of other bad things in the game!), I can still recommend the game as it is at least something different. Or you could just buy The Void instead.
