Done some thinking over the weekend about the current state of videogames in social media. Give it a read: http://www.giantbomb.co...

I had to disable my CPU from folding the other day. It's been causing my computer to emergency power down a lot because of temperatures getting too high (it's just got the stock cooler on), but it was easy enough to disable completely with the advanced control window. Still powering away with the GPU though.

And we've just passed the Penny Arcade team on the list. Take that!

Duolingo now supports clubs, with weekly XP leaderboards, and Dan has started a Giant Bomb Spanish Club. I've been really enjoying it, I've never learned Spanish before and never thought to learn it, but I took it up upon seeing this, and I'm progressing really well. Figured I'd bump this thread since there's no on-site mention of it.

The club code to join is AUMF8G.

I didn't even realize Giant Bomb had a folding@home team. I'd been contributing to OverClockedRemix's team for a while, but since GB has a team, and I'm here more often than there, I'm making the switch, and taking my GTX1070 with me.

Finally picked up my GTX1070 yesterday. €499 from Komplett with free Watch_Dogs 2.

Can't argue with that. Big step up from the AMD Radeon 7850 I've had since I first built this machine in June 2012.

Whoa, hadn't heard a word about this since the announcement years ago until I just saw "Shadow of the Beast is now available" in a PlayStation ad.

I hope it'll be available on other platforms at some point, at least the Vita or PC, as I don't own a PS4 and I have lots of fondness for Amiga games and computer games in general of that era..

I also suggest waiting for a Steam sale, because maaaaaan...the further I get in this game, the more I sort of regret paying for it.

Sony published Shadow of the Beast, so a PC version will more than likely never happen.

Despite having the newest drivers, my Radeon 7850 couldn't hack the first race and crashed about 90 seconds in. Oh well.

I'm well due an upgrade, since I haven't got one since 2012, but considering it can run MGS V and GTA V just fine, I'm wondering is this game really resource heavy, or just very poorly optimised for lower spec PCs? At least it was free to try out, I'd have been well cheesed off if I had paid full retail only to find this out.

@twolines: Yeah I understand the in-world hike is long and arduous, but I dunno, after 79 days I'd like to think they would've said hey, let's meet half way for a picnic. She just felt too close in the game to only be contacted by radio, instead of being somewhere absolutely 100% out of reach. I understand that's the essence of the game, and I loved their interactions and what the game was trying ti go for, but the game didn't give me enough of a reason not to ever meet up. Like a story about an astronaut and someone on Earth, for example.

I would say that not meeting her was perhaps not only a design choice, but an interesting character point on Delilah's part.

Bear in mind that Henry gets the chance very early on to attempt to go up that far, but the cable car's out of order, and only accessible at the very end, when Delilah wants Henry to get the hell out of the forest and go home. She didn't want him anywhere near her, and perhaps the cable car being out was her doing intentionally. She has had issues with men in her life before, and her not wanting to meet him at all may have been some sort of fear that she would fall for him, only to be let down just like her other exes did (or perhaps she did like Henry, but knew it wouldn't work out, and because deep down she may think Henry deserves better).

Could the case be made for the fact that before Henry came out to Two Forks, he pretty much became an alcoholic purely as a coping mechanism to get away from having to deal with his wife's Alzheimer's? I'd imagine the paranoia might be a bad side effect of him going off alcohol cold-turkey and taking up the post. You never see any booze in Henry's tower, after all (aside from the bottle of whiskey if you stole it from the teens on Day 1).

This has made me so god damned happy. I have no idea how they're going to approach this, but oh man, I am looking forward to Drew seeing all the incredible post-game stuff R&D has in store for him.

That looks like something you'd see as the shoulder patches on a potential Giant Bomb hockey jersey. Very neat, I like it. Probably more than the secondary script logo they have on the hats at the minute.
