The answer my friend, is Dust on the wind

I finished Dust: an elysian tail last night and it was pretty great. The character design didn't appeal to me much at all besides Fidget(I'm a sucker for cute animal companions), but the combat and controls were tighter than a drum. It really scratched the itch I've had for a new 2D Castlevania game that will never be made, even my deep-seeding 3rd sense for Castlevania-style secrets paid off in a couple instances that made me question which was more awesome; the fact I intuitively found them or the fact that the creator put them there. The character design took away from some of the melodrama of situations but during the more emotional scenes like the end, it really didn't matter. Big game designers would do well to take note of Dust's short and impactful story, we need to get away from the stupid tropes of games like Assassin's Creed where a "twist" is just when they tell you one thing through the whole game and then go the opposite direction just cause. I hope Dust makes it's creator a good chunk of change so that he can flesh out this universe he's created, good luck dude.
