  1. Zeno Clash

  A truly mesmerising game with outlandish visuals and some of the best melee combat in a game to date. Although this is technically a paid mod for half-life 2 and took me about 5 hours to beat this game it has one of the most original melee combat experiences I have ever seen in a game which earns it #1 on this list.

  3. Red Faction: Guerrilla

  Who knew a good ol' fashion hammer could make an already fun game downright awesome.Red Faction 3's "Hammer" in my opinion is one of THE best melee weapons of all time although it does not make Red Faction 3 the best Melee combat game of al time.If you have never played this game before I highly recommenced you at least try it.

  4. Dark Messiah of Might & Magic

  Despite unintentional hilarity on the story's part the melee combat in Dark Messiah earns its spot at 4 on this list.

  5. Halo 3

  Building on Halo 2's energy sword Halo 3 introduced the gravity hammer, although you may argue Halo 3 is an unoriginal piece of crap I beg to differ the melee weapons alone justify its place as 5 on this list.
