I've been looking for a PS3 ever since it dropped in price a few weeks ago. I finally got my hands one one today. Along with it, I got component cables (was gonna get HDMI, but since I switch between my non-HDMI tv in my room and my parents bigass 61" screen, I decided to go with components), an extra controller, and Resistance: Fall of Man. I also have Ratchet & Clank Tools of Destruction coming thru Amazon, and I'm still undecided about MGS4 and Uncharted.
So far, I like it. It has a nice interface and some sharp graphics (I was playing the Pure demo a moment ago and it looks much more sharper/colorful than the Xbox 360 version). Resistance is pretty cool, too. I hated the beginning, but it got much better after I got to the part where you start to regain your lost health (ala Halo) 'cause I suck at shooters that don't implement that mechanic.
the only gripe I have so far about it are the Installs for demos and stuff. On Xbox 360, you just DL a demo and load it up. here, you have to download it, and then manually install it (and wait for it to install, you can't do anything else, or at least I don't think you can). Anyways, thats all. Back to playing some kickass games!

I came home today with Spore only to find out that this game has SecuRom on it and only allows 3 ONLY 3 installs. ARE YOU FUCKIN' SHITTIN' ME, EA? This game looks great, but I absolutely refuse to play a game where I have to re-authenticate my copy every 10 fucking days with 3 installs. This pisses me off more than blatant in-game advertising. Is this the new trend now? Punishing people for buying your game? and it's not like pirates are having trouble. If anything, It is only encouraging people to pirate the game as it seems like a breeze to play with the cracked DRM.
If this is the kind of treatment PC games are gonna be getting from now on, You can consider PC gaming dead, because this is insane. I realize EA is trying to protect their game, but in the end, they are only hurting themselves and their fans. It's needless to say now, but I am definitely returning this game first thing in the morning. Until EA can solve its little problem, I will not be buying this game, and I urge others to do the same.

So I just finished playing through the Pure demo that was released today, and I had a blast. Its only one race (two races if you count the tutorial race, but whatever) it's like SSX on ATV's: big air and insane tricks all while racing through big, colorful stages. Throw in a custom soundtrack (yay Xbox 360!), customizable atv's, and 16-player online racing, and you have a kick ass game. I can't wait to get my hands on the full version.

A good game with some unneeded changes to veteran characters. (WII)
Super Smash Bros. Brawl went down a long road of agonizing delays before it finally came out. But is the end result any good? Super Smash Bros. is all about taking your favorite Nintendo characters and pitting them against eachother on various stages, and Brawl has a lot of that. ...

As a platformer, Super Mario Sunshine is an overall OK game (GC)
Super Mario Sunshine is Mario’s first true game after the highly-acclaimed Super Mario 64 6 years earlier. The game opens up with Mario and the gang spending vacation on the tropical island of Delfino, only to get there and find out that it has been vandalized by a doppelganger Mario. ...
