PC version. No grinding with the auto leveling made the game go quicker and kept an even difficulty. Great new IP universe means there could be some interesting DLC. Combat system was good. The time out on loot drops was frustrating since gold was tight at the beginning. Graphics and controls where good. Nothing jaw dropping visually but more than adequate. Even without bread crumbs you could find your way quite easily. Must admit I kept thinking of how interesting it would be if they could get a bit of demon souls multiplayer randomness into the game.

Its not about the difficulty. Its about the creative multi-player / nonmulit-player feature. The randomness and faceless of having someone enter your game and try to kick your butt is just flat out fun. Down side is of course when people stop playing the game but for now this is one of the most innovative things I have seen in long time. Its has faults. But I think with some work this could be a great feature in future games. Even anonymous co-op could be interesting. I just flat out liked this game, though some of the difficulty was stupid stuff like falling off edges. More pain in the butt but then again its old school where you had to be perfect.

What was old is new .... in this case they made it even better. Yeah its a remake but it was a excellent rethinking remake. I flat out had fun with this game.

Two games. One is a fan gift of basically an old game with some new paths. It was like visiting an old friend. Lot of hours spent with mario and company. Never regretted it. Even back then we played as a family or the kids with their friends. Same thing happened here. That is the magic is that Nintendo knows how to make toys for the family. That is the pedigree of the company. The second game is the multiplayer mode. When my kids where small I would have loved this feature. That way you can let them play and make them feel like they are moving through the game. Fantastic. Playing with them now? Well it is still fun but lets say the humor and the goals are different. Great game.
