I used to play WoW a lot, and quit back in 2016. My wife was really into FFXI for almost a decade before moving and switching jobs, but now she talked me into joining a classic server and I have yet to see the allure of extra hard difficulty and essentially all of the pain points that you have listed in your blog. I prefer WoW where you don't have to hope and/or beg for help from strangers for the simplest of quests. I endure it for her sake, but I feel zero achievement in spending dozens of hours only to de-level and eventually get help from someone 10 levels higher than me to finish a quest that gives 300 gil.
