Headed up by Chris "Planescape: Torment" Avellone! The story in this game might end up being a classic.
Based on the trailer, I assumed this was a shallow "too spoopy for YouTube" corridor crawl with jump-scare-based enemies.
But apparently it's System Shock 2, but ooohwhat if test subject something something and nanobot swarms? Also the guy what wrote that game where you wander dimensions of thought and space is here, too!
So is this the actual SR reboot? The icon, the color scheme, the musing about "A street gang? hardly"? Or just a play on their previous titles?
This has to be linked so SR in some way. That logo at the end looks a lot like the Saints logo. There's something very fishy about all this...
In an IGN video, the lead writer of the game, Jason Blair, has said that the Saints as a street gang have never existed in the Agents of Mayhem universe, but then a video producer at IGN implied in the comments of that same video that maybe Blair said something off-mic (or in a video that they intend to release at a later date) that would suggest the universe is still related to the Saints Row canon.
So yeah, I guess the "Saints-as-police timeline reboot" ending of Gat Out of Hell is at least partially canon? But Blair, in a way, also essentially says the equivalent of "there's always a lighthouse." According to him, Ultor and the fleur de lis are just iconic Volition things, not necessarily specific to one Volition universe. So...
