"Just play the first season again but let them make an OC"

@benpack: I hate to be that guy, but the Warhammer universe never goes from fantasy to Warhammer 40k. Those two universes are completely separated, instead being parallel realities or some such. I am a lot more into 40k (started painting miniatures last year, read a few books etc) yet enjoyed Total Warhammer at least. Was going to save up for Total Warhammer 2, but your coverage of this made me buy this instead...

Though he probably didn't know either way, there are a few references to them being in the same universe before it became officially stated that they were not. The only one I know personally is from The Black Library publication "The Liber Chaotica" which takes place in Warhammer fantasy and has a segment dedicated to a "portal in the warp" that appears at which point they begin to describe "great fire machines" and such, and the whole segment effectively suggested they were looking into a portal in time and were describing various things from 40k.

This being part of the VRodeo show is bothering me more than it should. The presented format is just a regular Quick Look for a VR game. I'm sorry.

Yeeeeeah I saw this in the sidebar coming up and got excited, and then upon starting it was immediately let down for....many reasons.

Also, disappointing that this is another Sony moneyhat and that it won't be available outside of PSVR.

I posted how this game needs a single player or bot ai mode.

I have extreme anxiety and after years of playing games online I just can't take dealing with strangers online. I have no interest in listening to other teams talk over voice chat or engage in anything but wanting to shoot the monsters. The pvp aspect of this game is going to be a total drag when cheaters ruin it, like every other fps on the planet.

Fortunately, a large segment of the community is in agreement that the PvE aspects in this are REALLY GOOD, and that some kind of co-op mode should be made, as a lot of the PvP stuff trivializes 90% of the really solid atmosphere and content. One of the top voted feedback items currently is "Please add a PvE mode" We will see if the devs will listen or not.

I get that most think Dynasty Warriors is kind of a joke, but i wish the first 10 minutes of this quick look wasn't just them shitting on the entire franchise lol.

They also have barely acknowledged the open world nature of this game and how that is a pretty HUGE change for the series.

Instead, they keep talking about how it hasn't changed. *shrug*

I get that it isn't for everyone, but the changes in this game are probably the most dramatic in years for the series

Yeah, kind of annoyed as I have an appreciation for the franchise and will usually get deep into one every two or three games, whenever a major shakeup (well, major for Dynasty Warriors anyway) happens and had been hearing very mixed things about how the Open World bit of this one had come along. Having them say "well, we're not going to show any of the stuff that changed for the people that do care, and we're going to show the same dynasty warriors ass stuff for the people that don't" makes me wonder; why even take the time to do this video?

As it stands, I don't know how to feel about this game still, because while it LOOKS like it could be worth getting into, I don't know how the flow of the game is at all to warrant the obvious negatives (the character models and move sets look like they took a big hit from the last one going over to this new format) because it wasn't even glossed over. The environments look more interesting than the previous map setups and not running the same "run all X faction missons, now run all Y faction missions" scenario for the millionth time is a nice change of pace, but I don't know if the rest of the stuff that was reworked for this new format came out all that great given the models and outfits....could be better (or at least, were better). Looks like I'm waiting for others coverage on this still /=

Side note: If you want to "get" dynasty warriors. Without getting into a bunch of fine details or going into the various different bits different people get out of it, think of it this way: Smite is to DOTA as Dynasty Warriors is to Diablo.

Just take Diablo or any other ARPG, drop the camera down, and pull it behind your character. There you go.

Looks like it could be fun, fortunately don't need to worry about it being shallow or not as, being an App Store only game, I'm giving this one a pass.
