It's not a great movie. It's a decent, entertaining movie. Not a great movie.

I thought Pulp Fiction was incredibly dull but inoffensive when compared to Kill Bill and Inglourious Basterds.

I feel like there's a huge mass of people who really despise Pulp Fiction. I think it's contingent on your tastes, just like any Tarantino film is. And this is Tarantino at his most Tarantino-ey, I'd say. The Death Proof/Inglourious Basterds style of talk-til'-they're-asleep filmmaking is more self-indulgent than Quentin was in his prime (the Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown years).   I don't know. It's a polarizing film. I'm surprised the OP is lukewarm about the whole thing, because that's the opinion I find the rarest.   "
It's not that I'm lukewarm to it but that I didn't really give the movie enough time to sink into my mind but now that it has been a few months since I watched it, I love Pulp Fiction.

@sagesebas: The first time I watched it with a group of friends, one who had seen it before, and I called out some of the bigger twists before they actually happened. It was like the film I would make if I made a film.

For instance, I asked "Is he going to tie them up in a back room and rape them now?"

And then it actually happened.

And that was one of the greatest moments of my life.

You mean there are people in the world that don't like Pulp Fiction? They might all be idiots.

Pulp Fiction is my favorite movie of all time for reasons completely different from the reasons everyone else likes it.

@sagesebas: I just watched Jackie Brown.  It was fantastic, and had the best music out of any of his (imho), but I still think Pulp Fiction is a better movie.  The three story lines, arranged thematically, all the left turns (marvin, Zed), and I think the inconsequential dialog is better (pot belly, royal w/ cheese).  None of that stuff from Jackie Brown is really memorable.  It's a con movie, and the character Jackie Brown is great, but there is something truly special about Pulp Fiction.

Which is probably why there are people who hate it.

Also, it's Sam Jackson doing Sam Jackson at his absolute best.

@Sir_Ragnarok: i think Jackie Brown is his best film, I like how he was much more subtle, yet you could still see his mastery

Probably my favorite QT movie.  In fact I never like any of his other movies as much as most people, but I loved Pulp Fiction, it's one of my favorite movies.

If you liked Pulp Fiction, you should watch this.  As you may have guessed, there's some R rated language here, so it's probably not safe for work.

You should also see Kill Bill.

Wait, people who don't like Pulp Fiction exist? But, what could that sort of person be like?

Definitely an awesome gangster flick. I don't think Tarantino's stuff is much of an acquired taste, I think you know after watching one of his films or even a chapter if you're into it or not.

One of my top 5 all time favorites, it was just so visceral and real, it was crazy and it had some of my most favorite actors and it made me look at Travolta in a different light because before I saw this I didn't think to highly of him.

Samuel L Jackson? BRUCE WILLIS? Damn it was a good movie. And that picture is indeed hilarious.
