I am now a full time student with 3 jobs

I think when University starts back up next week it'll be a hell of a shock to my system. During term time my tutoring uptake effectively doubles and I give guitar, bass, piano, voice and music theory lessons to fellow students at the University, as well as my usual cast of kids in the local community -- generally I have 14 hours of tuition a week. I'm also a waiter in restaurant in evenings for about 12 hours a week and I have just been offered a job in a music store in Glasgow at another 16 hours a week. 42 working hours a week, on top of a full time Masters course at University -- it doesn't bear thinking about.

Anyone else suffering on a similar boat? More over, does anyone have any advice for juggling such a life?

It feels like someone just ripped my beating heart out.

I said goodbye to nearly 15 years of my gaming life this morning. After being a PlayStation owner from the age of 4, I have had the controller's iconic mapping of buttons imprinted into my brain for over a decade. In 2006, I made a jump to the 360 and would always associate in my head that A = X, B = O.. etc etc.

Alas, I turned on my PS3 today and booted up the inFAMOUS demo for the first time since it went up (no idea why it has taken me so long to try it) and I was told that to use the 'Push' technique I am to hold R1 and push X. A bad dude advanced and I held R1 and pushed X and lo and behold, I threw a grenade. Baffled? I sure was.

Turns out the combination for grenade throw is R1 + Square, and Square is where 'X' would be mapped on an Xbox 360 controller.

So yeah, after over a decade, Microsoft have rewired my psychology and now I sit here in a cold sweat with visions of me never being able to properly co-ordinate my hands to game ever again.

Fuck you Microsoft and your awesome pad. I feel like I've lost a child.

DAMN YOU. DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!

A Sandwich - The coonce method

At the request of PeasForFees in this thread.

Coonce's guide to making a sandwich:

No Caption Provided

  1.  Get some bread

  2.  Pay your fridge for some cheese

  3.  Thanks fridge!

  4.  Toaster on

  5.  Throw toast in the toaster!

  6.  Toast the toast

  7.  No assembly necessary.

Note: I did not burn the toast, I should have admittedly for authenticity but I totally wanted a cheese toasty after all this.

In 12 hours time I will have met Jeff Wayne.

I have loved this man's work for as long as I can remember. I must have listened to Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds more than any other CD I own. I am also going to the concert on Thursday with my girlfriend who is an even bigger fan of the work than I am -- I'm going to get her a signed copy for her 20th birthday in a couple of weeks time.

I felt I had to share this utterly overwhelming experience with y'all.

Will update with pics hopefully tomorrow. I'll be the one spazzing out to the man next to me.
