After a year of asking for one I finally am getting a PS3, because I got all A's on my report card (I never really did well in English), but don't know when. The idea of me getting one just makes me feel excited! Even though some people said to get an Xbox 360, I'm getting the PS3 instead for these reasons:
1. Most of my friends have a PS3 in school and in SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 2
2. There's no need to pay for onlline multiplayer
3. There's better graphics
4. The games made especially for it
The only reason why I want to get the Xbox 360:
1. Halo 3
Whooooooooooooooohoooooooooooo I'm getting a PS3!!!
I just had a 5.4 magnitude earthquake in California somewhere 19 miles from Downtown Los Angelos. I felt it in Marina Del Rey at 11:42 a.m. It was pretty shakey. I was just playing video games on my PC and it just started shaking like crazy. I did not know what was happening because I have never felt an earthquake before in a very long time. I knew what I was supposed to do as people are trained to get under a table and wait. But I just didn't do that. I stood up looked around when the earthquake was going on and I did nothing. I didn't react for some reason. Kind of strange. But thank God nobody died or any damage done to anything. It's nothing new. I live in Earthquake Land anyways or whatever it is called.
I finished playing as the French in Medieval II Total War. I know it has been long, but I am trying out the other factions and stuff. And I play other games. Well I own like 45 provinces all of Eastern, Southern, and Northern Europe, Iberian Peninsula, North Africa to the Holy Land, South America, and Cuba. It was a hard and long game, but I finished it.Here's a trailer if you want to know about it. And yes if you are asking if the soldiers do all those fancy moves, but you need a good PC to see it clearly.I have so far not ever finished a Rome Total War campaign because it is twice as long as Medieval II Total War. I am working on it now.
The Electronic Entertainment Expo of 2008 has come to an end. It has been a fun and long convention. I have seen many good upcoming games like Gears of War 2, SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation, Tom Clancy's End War, Far Cry 2, Killzone 2, NBA Live 09, MAG and so on. (For some reason their's a lot of 2s don't you think?) All those games look so good and hopefully I will get to play them for a good while or even own them. I have seen the the live Sony and Nintendo press conferences and saw the recorded Microsoft press conference (on Gamespot.com), which sucks that I missed it because I didn't know it was on that day. I also saw th GiantBomb coverage of E308, but it's hard for me to describe. E308 has been long and fun, but unfortunately it must go.
I'm disappointed I can't go because my brother is tired because of his job's night shift, mom used up vacation days to visit sick family, and dad can't go because their's a strike at UCLA where he works and if he uses a vacation day his boss will think that he will go on strike with the others.

Microsoft's Press Conference E308
Here's the games and updates. For the time I watched, many different games were being showcased, like Fable 2, Rock Band 2, Guitar Hero World Tour, Viva Piñata Trouble in Paradise, and the much anticipated Gears of War 2. Though many of these games have already been announced, it was nice to see how they were coming along and many of them had release dated that were close.
After the Game News, the attention shifted from the games to the 360 itself, where Microsoft announced a new start up menu for the 360, which you move to different squares that go to your movies, games, pictures, and more, and how you could seamlessly move between them. Then they announced new Xbox LIVE avatars, that let you customize them and are shown on you friends list and online.
The next thing for Microsoft to announce was the partnerships with Movie companies like MGM, and how this would bring a lot new movies to the 360, along with tv shows. They also announced their partnership with Netflix, which would let you rent movies for free and watch them on your 360 if you pay for LIVE.
Finally, games like Lips, Guitar Hero World Tour, and Rock Band were discussed, with the end having Square Enix announce 3 new games, on of them being a Star Ocean title, and the show end on a high note with the announcement and Final Fantasy 13 was coming to the 360.
Overall, Microsoft had a great E3, with plenty of great new games and updates for the 360 being announced, while also discussing the games that were coming out soon. Hope Nintendo and Sony have just as great of a showing!

Nintendo's Press Conference E308
Nintendo had the floor first on Tueday and announced a number of new titles, along with some interesting features coming to Nintendo systems. The show started off with Nintendo announcing a Wii snowboarding game, and a demonstration of it by Pro Snowboarder Shaun White. Then Nintendo talked for a while about how their goal is to get people to be enriched, enthused, and engaged by their products.
Nintendo then went on to announce a Wii Animal Crossing, with new features like mic support, and a number of other titles like Star Wars Clone Wars, Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party, and Call of Duty World at War for the Wii, all fo which looked pretty good. DS games shown were a New Guitar Hero game, Guitar Hero On tour Decades, along with a Spore game, a new Pokemon Rangers, and Grand Theft Auto Chinatown which seemed shocking to because you know... I'm Chinese. But why does it have to be my race. Can't it be a regular city instead of Chinatown. It seems offensive that people playing the game will be be shooting all Chinese people.
After Nintendo talking about turing the PSP into a cookbook, and connectivity with ballparks and airports, the attention shifted back to the Wii with disscussion about the new Wii accessory, called the Wii Motion Plus, that provided increased precision with the Wiimote.
Finally, after Wii Sports Resort announced, Nintendo showed off Wii Music, with a really cool performance by a drummer (cant remember his name) showcasing the drums portion of Wii Music, then Miyamoto played the Saxophone portion. After more talk about the game, a group of Nintendo staff played the Super Mario Bors. theme using Wii Music, which was possibly thec oolest part of the show for me.

Playstation's Press Conference E308
Sony's press conference was pretty good well I don't remember much, but I'll try to explain. They mostly introduced some games for the PS, but some reason stayed on the PS2 for a while talking about a future 130 games coming out for it which sounds grea, but it's supposed to be all about the PS3. No offense to Sony, but the PS2 is getting old.
The titles they announced Resistance Retribution for the PSP which looks good and I am looking forward to it. Killzone 2 the most anticipateed game by far on the Playstation. It's great with all the previews and gameplay. Resistance 2 is also coming.
MAG (Massive Action Game) is what it says. A game with lots of action. This game is really driving me to getting a PS3. This is a squad based shooter made by Zipper Interactive featuring 256 person multiplayer ddivided into squads of eight and with a leader in each. The squads are made to them completing their own objective which they choose. I'm looking forward to this game, but really I don't think the people under the command of the leader of the squad won't listen to him/her becase really people won't do that. They don't like listening to people telling them what to do, but it sounds fun.
Sony also announced DC Universe and all their stuff like Mortal Combat vs. DC Universe. PSP is also coming out with a bunch of entertainment packs which really boost PSP sales by a lot.
Well that does about it for me trying to remember what I saw in the Sony press conference.
I know it's late to post this, but it's summer vacation! School and exams are over and I am very happy. =) I am not going anywhere this summer. I am just going to stay home and play video games, watch television, or some other stuff.

I am interested in PC gaming mostly, but also have a PSP and a Super Nintendo and I am getting a PS3 soon. The type of games I like are shooters, racing, strategy, fighting, some sports, and very little rpg games. I am Chinese, but I am born in Los Angeles, California and I can only speak and read little of it. I am the youngest of to which is my brother. Well that about wraps it up for this blog post. I'll have more later.
