Was down with this till I heard (from others, not GB) about the community around the game. I understand that having a competent crew is crucial, but if I'm going to make errors as I learn only to get mocked and yelled at for daring not to be a god at it, this just isn't worth the cash. Shame because I like the setting, but oh well, saves me thirty bucks.
I've played this for 100 hours already and I've run into about 2 jerks total. Most people are actually very nice compared to other games. Most people will stick around in the same lobby even after several failed attempts because it's like we're all learning new strategies together. Also people don't really have time to type obscenities during a match because of how intense it is, there's always a rat somewhere sneaking up on you.
The game is not that hard on easy/normal, all the new players are gonna be there so nobody is gonna yell at anybody, with the rare exception of the village idiot I guess. It would be unfortunate if you decide to pass up on a gem of a game like this because of some potential douchebags.
