I've been watching a lot of WCW Nitro 1995 (and the PPV's in timeline order) and it's got that cheesy WWF 90's feel, but a bit more adult...if that makes sense. Watching Eddy wrestle against Malenko and Benoit a few times is cool, he was really really good back then as he would be later on. The only weird stuff in this era is the Dungeon of Doom/Darkside Hulk Hogan stuff. I still don't really know what was going on. Hulk Hogan gets his mustache shaved so he becomes Luke Skywalker teetering on the Darkside? What?
Sting was on fire back then. One of the Nitro's had Sting (surfer) V. Darkside Hogan and the fans HATED Hulk. It was cool to see. The wrestling is top notch actually, I don't remember Nitros being like this before...although Eric's commentary can get annoying, but no where as bad as Raw was early on with that "comedian."
Watching Starrcade '95 right now. Benoit V. Liger was great. There's a World Cup tournament where it pits New Japan's Wrestlers V. WCW's. It's really cool. Wish they did these kind of things today...and as much as Bobby Heenan's best days were in the WWF, he still was entertaining.
Anyone know if WWF Raw from 95/96 is up? I can't seem to find them on the WWE Network.
