So I just got back from the vet...

For a long time, my avatar here on Giant Bomb has been my dog Rupert.

He's about 12 now so he's pretty old for a beagle but he's always acted like a big puppy.

So it was rather strange that he has so listless today and when it came to feed him he could barely walk and wouldn't eat.

I rushed him to the vet and she said he's not looking good. He's had a blood test and he's going to have an ultrasound tomorrow morning.

She said it could just be a gastro infection or it could even be cancer. Unfortunately he's in a bit of pain and I felt bad just leaving him there.

I'm hoping for the best but I'm a bit depressed at the moment.

Awww.  :(

Hope he feels better. I hate it when pets are ill. I've had my fair share of serious pet illnesses, so I wish you the best.

I hope he gets better. I can't even imagine what I'd do if I lost my dog...

Chin up buddy, hopefully it's something he can work through.

It sounds like he means a lot to you, so I'm going to assume he's had an awesome time with you as his owner.

I actually had a dog that died from leukemia when he was 2 years old and it hurt a lot to lose him. I hope you don't have to go through the same thing, but when I think that he enjoyed every moment of his short life it made it easier to get through those tough times.

Good luck to you and Rupert!

Man, I've lost some pretty good pets in my life and each time just gets worse and worse.

Much luck to you brother. :(

My parents just built a house down in Mallacoota (in the country) with a huge yard and he was going to live down there with them.

We got to take him down there for easter and he bounded up and down the property like a puppy chasing after people who pass by.

I just hope he gets another chance to go back down there

he really loved it
