Analyzing my gaming habits, I hardly do any portable gaming at all.  I have a PSP and I've gotten some great use out of it to justify the cost that it was when I got it, but seeing how much the 3DS is, I think to myself that I would rather save that money for a new laptop for gaming purposes.  That price point is just way too much for me to even consider purchasing it when compared to how much I would actually use it.

It would also feel like I was getting the Wii all over again.  Spend all that money and see it gather dust.

I voted for gameplay simply because even if the story was amazing, the gameplay would tarnish the experience so that it probably wouldn't be as enjoyable.  It's a catch-22, but I would rather play a game and get some worth out of it rather than buying a game and not playing it because I didn't feel like it or couldn't.

The video game business is a serious one.  How serious?  You tell me...

@bshirk: from my experiences with xbox live, I was always using the automatic renewal that would have the original cost of $50.  After doing this for 6 years, I never really had a problem with it since I didn't know anything different.  It wasn't until I heard on the cheap ass gamer podcast that the guys were getting subscription cards for much less than the subscription's cost.  I couldn't believe it, I got so pissed.  I immediately cancelled my auto renewal and went looking online for a 12 month code.  I searched around for a bit and found that Amazon was selling them for $15 cheaper!  I pounced on it and just used it recently after finishing some single player games I've had lined up.

The bottom line is, xbox subscription codes are often much cheaper from third party sources than Microsoft.  NEVER pay the full price until you make sure they aren't cheaper somewhere else first.

I have around a level 20 siren as well if you want to hit me up.  Grant it I still have to download the expansion, but if you want to jump on give me a shout.  My tag is nastyman 123.  But yeah, give me some warning so I can download the damn thing.

I don't understand why developers are trying to make their consoles more of a social experience when, I believe, the majority of people just want to play games.  I thought it was great when Microsoft enabled cross game chatting since that combined the social aspect with being able to still play the game you want to play.  This is just....a waste.  I don't get it.  I don't want to waste my time talking to people like this when I could just as easily be doing that AND playing a game at the same time already.

@Jethuty: I wouldn't have believed it unless I saw it for myself, but you're absolutely right.  It's really awesome to see that similar fighting mechanic in blazblue.  He seems to be a pretty decent character as well.  Nice find.

@Jethuty: Oh crap, don't get me started on Pyron.  I was recently playing the first Darkstalkers and was about to throw my controller into a wall trying to beat him with Talbain.  It's always the same with these Cpacom fighting game bosses.  It reminds me of trying to beat Cyber Akuma in marvel super heroes vs street fighter.  Damn, so much time spent, but was it worth it to finally beat them.......uh......sure?

Seems like the normal business decision to me.  I can certainly understand why people would be upset if their game is being shut down, but in the greater picture, these games don't really represent all that much.  If it's an operating loss for the business, then it only makes sense for EA to shut them down.

@Jethuty: Hmm, decent enough for me.  I'm not a huge capcom buff or anything too involved with any one series so whatever they choose would be fine by me.  But for whatever reason Hsien-ko always freaked me out.  Maybe it's her head bobbing in Darkstalkers 2, but I never really liked her.
