I still don’t understand the difficulty of just opening a second launcher. I don’t necessarily need everything in one place unless it’s an aggregator. That just creates a monopoly like Steam has had.

I’ve actually liked what EA has done with Origin actually and EA access. It actually works well.

All that said, doesn’t sound like Origin is going anywhere. It’s just another place to buy EA games. Which from that perspective, sounds good to us consumers.

This is a really good write up, and in the end very similar to where I am at with it.

I have about 19 hours into the game so far, and I haven't finished the main story yet. I feel the story is good and actually really interesting. The flying and combat is a ton of fun. Those two things have made me really actually enjoy the game mostly. The environment they have created is really cool too. The way they tell the story through side characters is different than BioWare has done in the past but I do think it works.

The thing that gets me most of all in the end, I feel, is that you can absolutely see that at one point this was probably being designed as a new single player game and new IP. It would have been a better game left at that. Either that, or BioWare pulled too much from their Mass Effect and Dragon Age games (which I both love a lot) to put into a game that shouldn't be built like those as its a whole different experience. I'm curious when (if) in development it changed but it had to be halfway through. There's no way this game was in development for as long as it was (6 years I think?) without some sort of major shift. We can probably thank EA for that one.

All this being said, I think the game is worth it. The story is enjoyable, the combat and flying is so much fun, and the world itself is rich and beautiful. Even if that's all one plays, singe player (mostly) through the story I still think there is enough content to say the game is enjoyable and worth it.

I'm not a huge BR player, but Apex has been the one that has got me playing one with any sense of regularity. I still only do so probably once or twice a week with friends, and play other things myself instead (been playing Anthem) but the time I do put into it I enjoy it. Even if I'm not any good at it!

Honestly - Give me Borderlands 2 with a new world, updated graphics, a new story that's good and updated loot systems.

I don't need anything totally new, Borderlands 2 was fantastic for me. Its been long enough that I'm good with more that in and updated setting.

I'm sure this will be something that I play eventually. I enjoyed 2 immensely and did mostly skip 3, so I am on board with another Just Cause. That being said, I have way too many games to play and complete before I get it. Its not *SO ANTICIPATED* that I need it now. I'll probably pick it up on sale half way through next year.

I love it, its absolutely fantastic.

I think it hits really what they are going for, and what they are about now. VIDEO. Its great for that, I love the carousel, I think it shows their growth. Personally, I think too many people just don't like change. I feel this really speaks to their vision and I'm happy they embraced that with this design.

Double Dragon is one of my favorite. I have a lot of fond memories of that. I was a kid at the time so I think my nostalgia glasses are probably playing a large part as to how good it was, but it was awesome.

I would love to see some make a comeback so to speak. I love the simplicity of them. As some others have stated, it would be nice to have some really finely crafted beat'em up games that don't go down the road of metroidvania type games or a bunch of RPG elements. Those can be neat, but so NOT what I am looking for. I understand the idea of doing something new, and perhaps it just hasn't been done right and that's the problem but I would like a classic, well made simple experience as well.

Would you be interested in a City Building Game?

If so, check out Cities: Skylines. Its an absolutely fantastic city builder on PC and is simple enough to get into yet deep enough to keep you coming back over, and over, and over again. Numerous years on, I still usually get sucked into playing it for a ton of hours at least a couple times per year. Its fantastic! The mods/steam workshop options are also really good for it.
