So I read that some folks have issues with how BioWare made Mass Effect 2's combat and equipment mechanics simpler and 'more Gears of Wars-y' and demanded Mass Effect 3 to be more 'RPG-like'.

BioWare responded by saying they were aware of the criticism and will change it again for Mass Effect 3 to make it less action and more RPG
 
 Personally, I'm into Mass Effect for the story and characters and don't really care much for the gameplay. However, when I heard that BioWare would make it more RPG, this image of a Persona 4-like 'team HUD' just appeared in my head and I couldn't resist drawing it. The idea of Mass Effect becoming a Persona-like RPG makes me giggle. 
 

As long as Tali gets overload ability then we should be good, everything bleeds when it doesn't have shielding.

Combat gameplay can only get better. And saying planet probing is better than the Mako is like saying catshit is better than dogshit. And don't get me started on hacking. There's a solid 1/3 of a game in ME2, they can do whatever they want to the other 2/3.
