Why not ask her what kind of media she currently likes and then make game selections based on that?

Though, I tend to think that more aesthetic games, as well as narrative-driven stuff is more enjoyable to watch, regardless of a hard genre.

I hear really great things about Prison Architect. Also, I really like Recettear, but that's more "I own a shop and have to manage that as well as play these dungeons in an RPG style." Probably closer to Harvest Moon.

The Transformers games from High Moon Studios (mostly RIP)! The first two are really fun third-person action/shooters.
