I rented Web of Shadows from Blockbuster out of boredom and now I bitterly regret it. While I don't think the game is terrible, it fails to hold my attention. Everything about the game is repetitive, the story progression is the same pattern over and over. Kill however many number of dudes, report back to whoever you're serving, repeat. Even the boss battles are dull and generic, ending with a quick time event at the end of every one of them. It's also very buggy, and crashes regularly. I wonder if they even had people test the game, because it's feels so unpolished and in some cases, broken. For example, one time I hit the wrong button during a QTE and it resulted in the whole game freezing. Nice! 
 
But the worst and most laughable part about the game is the horrible voice acting. Peter Parker sounds as though his balls haven't dropped, making each terribly written line hilarious to hear. It's actually the reason why I kept playing the game for a little bit.

I hated Web of Shadows. Putting a moral choice system is one of the stupidest things you could possibly put in a Spider-Man game. After the Spider-Man 3 film, it's hard to see Peter Parker as 'morally ambiguous'.

I remember wishing physical harm on Spider-man's VA while playing that game.    
Especially if you picked any of the "black suit" options. It was like listening to a 10 year old trying to talk like a tough guy.

Yep, Spider-Mans voice was pretty bad in that. A lot of the voices we're pretty bad. I think Shattered Dimensions has it right though. They got the 90s Spider-Man VA to play Noir Spidey, and you can't go wrong with him.

When was this released? This is like a parody dub or something!

The combat looks flashy, the voice acting...YOUCH!

I can tell you now that this game will have been tested. Prior to testing games will have hundreds or thousands of bugs in them and just by the fact that the game doesn't just crash in certain scenarios you can tell it's been tested. That was pretty horrible voice acting though, Spiderman in particular sounded completely terrible.
