I'm going to predict Giant Bomb's Most Disappointing Game of 2014 as Watch Dogs.

This is the first time in the game that I have taken a long break and come back but still not made any real progress. I think the one single thing I am worst at in Sekiro is dealing with sweep attacks, so once the third phase starts I just get destroyed. I can get through the first phase without taking any damage, but after that I guess I need to spend more time learning his patterns. I haven't quite got down what I should be doing in response to his different attacks.

It is annoying having to repeat the Way of Tomoe phase over and over, though.

I'd say there is like a 98.352% chance you are going to buy a PSVR within the next couple of weeks, regardless of the outcome of this thread. Enjoy your new PSVR!

@handlas: You can drag him back to the right side of the building and fight him in that small clearing and the other enemies won't come up the stairs. Just watch the cliff.

The elite is definitely two very quick slices that must be perfectly deflected to avoid posture damage. The upside to him is that if you do manage to do that it can very well put him into deathblow immediately.

I couldn't get those deflects timed right and was taking too much damage. I cheesed him with the Sabimaru attachment.

Right now I feel like I'm doing better in Sekiro than I ever have in any previous Souls game, but Sekiro is also harder, if that makes any sense. Sekiro forces me to learn and adapt in order to progress, and I can't fall back on any of the old Souls methods I used as crutches like grinding out levels or calling in co-op partners. As a result I'm also finding Sekiro a lot more satisfying after getting through each area or boss.

I know I won't finish it, but Sekiro is a brilliant game.

Not with that attitude you won't!

I'm kidding. I felt like that at the first few mini bosses and the first boss...then I started beating them, and getting better, and progressing further and further. I don't think I'm even good at these games, but I'm going to make it.

Few other games have ever given me the same feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment that Sekiro does when I eventually beat an encounter that at first makes me say, "Wait, what am I even supposed to DO against this?" I like having the knowledge that the only thing stopping me from progressing is my own ability, not that I haven't grinded enough XP or found the right armor or weapon yet. In previous From Software games, when faced with a difficult situation my response was always to either go level up some more or call in some help. I was using them as crutches. Now, I just buckle down and try to get better, and it feels great.

If this was what From was going for when they were designing Sekiro, then they nailed it. As far as difficulty options, I'm not one for telling others how they should play or enjoy their games, but I'm not sure how an Easy mode could have been included without completely changing the feeling of the game. I guess there is always Cheat Engine on PC if you want to make the game easier, though.

Looks great, I can't wait to play this weekend. I have been avoiding watching too much prerelease footage, but to me the combat seems reminiscent of faster games like Ninja Gaiden.
