So, I recognise that I'm being oversensitive here, but I'm 50 minutes into this podcast and I've already heard how many dungeons are in BOTW, which to do first and a pretty clear hint about what you get from doing so.
I think I'm usually pretty relaxed about spoilers- especially with regard to the mechanics or structure of a game- but I'm finding that playing BOTW is such a wonderful experience, built around surprising you, that it really bummed me out to hear that much.
For what it's worth, I like these shows. Most Q&A things are really awkward, like people say, but these pre-screened, subscriber only shows are much better. Also, with GBE and and GBW each doing a 2-hour show on Fridays, its nice to have something more audio focused, that's easier to watch while doing something else.
I can see why people would be disappointed about this change, though. If you aren't into Beast in the East, say, that's a bunch of content that may as well not exist for you, for the next several months; I've seen people say similar things about 'retro' content, too, and Metal Gear Scanlon when that was running. If the only thing you can reliably watch is UPF, I guess changing the format would sting. But as someone who likes all of those things, and likes these call-in shows, I'm feeling pretty satisfied with the premium offering lately.
I think having Matt Rorie in these helps, too. Please put that guy into everything. Even if he has bad opinions about FF13.
I'm not defending people with prejudice or bigotry, but you guys mentioned treating people like they are people and the learning experiences you all had growing up when you stopped being jerks, right after saying if someone thinks like you used to they should leave the site and stop listening. That's talking out of both sides of your mouth, though I'm sure it was unintentional.
That wasn't my recollection, so I went back and checked the episode. They were specifically telling the people sending death threats to leave

You can't seperate those things right now. You can't try to push considered or reasonable criticism through the giant flaming mess of abuse, because it doesn't come out the other side in the form you want it to
