Who said anything about tomato sauce? We're talking about ketchup. Tomato based pasta sauces et al, are something else entirely.
In some parts of the world ketchup is referred to as tomato sauce (don't know what their term for tomato sauce is, though). Judging by his other comments CABBAGES is from Scotland, so many that's one of those places.
I think this should be spun off into a different series called Final Battle. One Bomber who's great at a game, versus a novice. Each episode is the Final Battle. It would retain the "Only one episode exists" conceit of TITR.
I'm not complaining about this series at all. I really really like it and want more of both modes.
That's a really cool idea. I'm not sure how many iterations they could get out of it, but it would be a lot of fun while it lasted. The Vinny/Dan combo is great, but the TITR/Final Battle format would be entertaining with any of the crew if they picked the right games.
The one thing I'll say in defense of the writing is that I grew up just outside NYC in the 80's and I do remember a similar level of casual racism, unfortunately. But even that doesn't excuse the game's use of epithets, because it never claimed to be a realistic recreation of a time and place. They could have easily captured the vibe of both 80's cop shows and 80's New York, and even expressed a level of racial tension, without resorting to the constant use of slurs.
This is my favorite thing on the site, too. Part of it is the dynamic between Dan and Vinny and Dan's general excitability, but it's also a really fun setup for a series. I wouldn't mind at all seeing something similar from the West Coast with Jeff and someone else.
