Went with custom character - didn't know that origin characters where voice cast. That doesn't make me regret my choice anyway. There is enough talking as it is.
I like the new one better than the previous one. That said I am not much for customization at large but having more of my chosen background is a plus in my book.
I guess the ads are meant to inspire exploration - because if you know what you want to play - why would you scroll down and not go directly to "my games and apps"?
It is quite obvious that Jeff. G is burned out on corporate beauracracy (?) if you listen to his podcast.
It is also quite obvious that GB Crew scrambled to get that video going - and who knows stuff may aswell been cooking behind the scenes for quite some time since their programming has hit problems this whole year. The new hires may not be that clearly connected to Jeff.Gs leave at all.
Also - From where i'm standing at least- making a big sendoff celebration kerfuffle could actually hurt the Giant Bomb brand way more than making things seem as on track as possible and just let Jeff G use his name and brand as he see fit. I mean he is a giant in this field.
All in all - i feel way more invigorated by this compared to the depression i fell into when GBE was shut down.
Flow is fine considering the circumstances with distance work.
Folks saying things was better years ago seems to have not noticed that the gaming landscape has changed a lot. News are scarce outside acuisitions and people are much better at finding their own sources than relying on a single podcast so cover every base. Also im leaning more towards the Voice Mail Dumptruck and the other non directly gaming related stuff, since my internet experience basically exclusively revolves around gaming and such. I come to GB for the folks and their takes on the world.
Back in Breath of The Wild, and yep. It's still one of the best games i have ever played. Still discovering new stuff 5 years later is such a feat not many games that arent live service games can boast about.
I have played perhaps 4 hours or so. It feels somewhat rushed, but still polished. The character designs are both good and bad. The sound and music are good but too low key or muted.
This kind of good and/or less good seems to be a theme for me and this game. I like it, but there is not much pulling me in. So far the story does nothing for me.
The whole game seems to be in need of more "weight". The player character is a bit too floaty. More heft to the step would have come a long way, certainlty so in combination with a more bombastic soundscape.
Played this a lot with support from a Youtube walkthrough. Found it to be really good but also quite challenging. Dropped of for a while and started it up again last month. Did not know where to go, so i went into the DLC area - did not find that enjoyable at all.
On the negative side i think the weapon and armour diversity/amount was a bit lackluster.
