@humanity: I can see your argument but it feels like literally every episode Drew gets to the load-out screen, remembers that his tranq sniper rifle is not silenced, sighs, and calls it useless... that's a perfect time for Dan or Jason to say something like "you know if you want a suppressor on there, here's how that could be accomplished...." Drew has said multiple times that he's going to ignore side ops but if there's a particular side op that he should do, he wants Dan to tell him that. It's going to be a long-ass time before it gets a suppressor without customization.. Drew will probably never even get close to that upgrade level of that weapon.
For God's sake, Dan and Jason made him go to the medical platform and talk to Paz, and they convinced him to do a bunch of "extract wandering motherbase soldiers" side ops. It's insane that they'd tell him to do that but not mention the fact that weapon customization is even possible to see if he'd be interested.
I'm not saying he'd spend hours customizing all of his weapons to his particular liking but if he wants to beat the game as fast as possible, investing 30 minutes into unlocking weapon customization so he can throw a suppressor onto his tranq rifle would save him way more than 30 minutes down the line.
They're also doing him a huge disservice by not getting him to develop more stuff than he is.. like at least upgrade the things you are using. Drew is going to have a hell of a time with some of the later missions with no LMG, the 1-star basic rocket launcher, etc. etc. This series is only going to get more and more frustrating for Drew and viewers as Drew progresses through the game while ignoring and/or neglecting important game systems.
How is it possible that Dan and Jason have not forced Drew to do the Legendary Gunsmith side ops? It's like 30 minutes of extracting prisoners in order to unlock a huge customization system that Drew badly needs access to... if he knew that doing it would unlock weapon customization I'm sure he would do it immediately (constantly complaining about his tranq rifle not being silenced).
At least they finally developed Quiet's tranq weapon.... after taking her on all of the child soldier missions with the lethal gun where she basically served as a poor man's D-Dog...
