My concern is that even if I were to get Taken King, it too would be obsolete in another year. Is that a reasonable assumption to make? I understand that some of vanilla Destiny has been transplanted into TK, but is it at least still a functional Destiny "Lite" for someone who is not necessarily interested in getting too deep into the endgame?

I'd consider Taken King if new games weren't $80 in Canada at the moment (thanks, economy), but OG Destiny is only ~$20 now - far more reasonable for something I'm not sure about. So, what is the experience of playing vanilla Destiny in this post-Taken King world? Does everything exist in the same world, with DLC locked? Do they shove it down your throat, or can I enjoy vanilla Destiny at my own pace?

Those built in headphones look cheap as shit. I hope they're removable.

Despite it topping the Steam charts today (showing obvious interest), I still haven't heard a peep from GB about this game. What's the deal? Are they trying to make some kind of statement by ignoring one of the hottest games of the moment? At least Gamespot gave it a chance:

The most reassuring thing about this is that the codename for the new console is "NX". Such baditude. :D

This may sound fatalistic, but in my opinion, "big" games are pretty much done - at least for now. It's all about them indies.

I can't always necessarily justify my taste in games, but Brad (and indeed any critic) is expected to. A critic shouldn't be allowed to just throw up their arms and praise a game without reason.
