I've only played a few solo games and I'm still figuring stuff out, but I'd really like to try teams. Add me up on steam, id is null100.

Great read, and you've given me an interesting list of books to check out. Kudos.

@CABBAGES: I believe it was this particular suit who was believed to be the main problem. Regardless, this is old fucking news. That guy was canned a few months later and kotaku even did an article about it. If anyone had bothered to read the article back then, it would have put to bed the whole issue as it basically explains the same stuff that Jeff did in this video (specifically the rift that was occurring between the editorial/marketing departments at gamespot).

Not too sure why people are worried about having the game spoiled or ruined by watching this stream. The elder scrolls games are more about the atmosphere, exploration, and the sheer amount of shit to do, and not so much about having a compelling story or interesting characters. Besides, as the article states, a 12 hour marathon is probably just scratching the surface of this game.

Also, gb didn't come up with this idea, past or present. I think greg kasavin was the main brains behind it back at gamespot, so yeah... just credit greg and stop this whole us vs. them horseshit. I understand where the animosity comes from, but still...

@Hockeymask27: Interesting. I would bet he's a capitals fan, I seem to remember him saying he was from DC.

Even though I'm a fan of hockey and nhl 11 myself, I don't think it would make for a great tnt, since I doubt any of the other giantbomb guys have any interest in the sport. Unless it was just dave playing the game and talking to himself for a couple of hours. I could be into that.

@xaLieNxGrEyx: Bravo on that witty repartee, sir. XxxSmokEdOg420xXx would be proud. Jesus fucking christ.

Anyway, this game sounds like it might be a decent, low-investment  "I'm bored and need to distract myself" kind of thing. Maybe worth checking out.

I like real-time combat systems. So fable, mass effect, and the witcher are more my thing. I love old-school rpgs like baldur's gate but, generally, I find turn-based combat to be tedious and awful. Weirdly, I actually enjoyed kotor's combat. Maybe because they spent enough time on the animations to actually make it fun to watch. Gothic 3 and risen are cool, but the combat in those games is pretty bad too; awkward animations, stiff controls, weird collision detection, subpar targeting, yeah not good. The exploration and world design is what keeps me chugging in those games. Also a fan of diablo derivatives such as dark alliance and torchlight, despite their simplicity.
