Personally, I'm not a fan of any kind of internet activism, especially twitter activism. I can get behind critique of games media and gaming journalism, but when you have this hosted on a website like Twitter where you get information quickly, but are limited to making small bold statements... it's a mess. Personally, I really enjoyed the Forbes Google Hangout w/ TotalBiscuit and Erik Kain. I really want to see a roundtable of people talking about this, you can't just watch a stream of tweets and think progress is being made.

Now, with the statements that gamers are attacking whoever, I'm a little confused by that. I think this is an issue that exists on the internet itself, more particularly Twitter. The treatment gamers have with one and other is overall positive, PAX happened at the height of the GG hashtag and no issues were brought up. Over the summer there were a number of charity live streams on Twitch that raised thousands of dollars, by regular gamers playing games. With the mainstream media outlets reporting on "gamers attacking women/developers/writers/etc." it's a little saddening none of the positive has been brought up. Hell, part of the Humble Bundle's success is how much money they help generate for charity and developers.

Anyways, this post may not be concise as I normally don't make these kind of comments about gaming online. I don't care about hashtags, everyone knows harassment is bad, just get regular people talking one to one and not via tweets and maybe some progress can happen.
