ENGAGE.

Big plans today.

Intimidating.
Intimidating.

Made toast and coffee. Started new Minecraft world. Here we go.
Totally making a house jetting out from the mountain.
I always have little little sense of being overwhelmed when I start a new world in Minecraft. I have this little panic attack of what I want to do. I usually end up running around looking at the world and getting too far away from the spawn point. Which really is a bad idea. I suppose the easiest remedy would be to just punch a tree and get started, but I'm always trying to find some sort of natural shelter because I'm playing on Normal. For anyone that knows minecraft on anything above Easy is fucking ridiculous with all of the monsters it spawns at night. I took a screenshot a very long time ago of night time on normal.

GOD?
GOD?

So you see, it gets way bananas when the sun goes down. Naturally I don't want to get caught outside, but it always happens that way. I end up fighting off hordes of green dicks for a half an hour while I try not to die and go back to the spawn point that I don't remember where the hell it is.

I really do have a problem. :|

I like to build around the spawn point; if I can't see my base from the spawn then there's a problem. Generally, I look for a mountain and then build on the peak; elevation is good tool against mobs.

Yeah, but I'm so specific when it comes to actually committing to an area. I really like tree houses so I love to try and find the perfect set of trees, and it ends up me in the middle of fucking nowhere. Tree houses are great and all for elevation until creepers figure out they can climb up ladders (YEAH IT HAPPENED).

Anytime that I build a tree house, or any building with a ladder extending down to the ground, i build a little house around the ladder, so that i can put a door on it and prevent creepers from being anywhere near the base of the ladder.  Then just put a shell around the ladder and you're safe.
