@janman The official DC Coupler is only $35, then you only need an 8.4V/2A AC adapter, though I'm not sure of the plug size. $100+ for an AC adapter is highway robbery.
Yeah, I went back and listened to some random GB video from 2015 and that one sounded better. I know nothing about audio, so I'll just say the voices in this video hurt my ears.
Jan was saying during the stream that he was working on the sound, I want to say it gets better near the end.
I found it helped just turning the volume down some which made it a little more bearable. I honestly always find Matt Rorie's microphone (he is the loud guy to me) to be extra hot compared to everyone else, so I always have the video at maybe half-volume regardless.
I've got the volume to just a smidge above 0% and that's not painful, but the quality of the audio itself is still pretty bad. I don't ever have to adjust for video games or youtube videos, but I find pretty often with GBW videos I need to lower the volume a substantial amount because it sounds metallic and hollow. I'm not an audio expert so I can't say what the cause is but it is super not-pleasant to listen to.
West coast videos are often way, way louder than most other things I watch, a lot louder than the east. Mic balance is also often an issue (not just when there's random yelling all of a sudden) which is frustrating because, while I know it doesn't bother everyone, it makes things hard to watch for me.
They used to use compressors to keep yelling under control. I wonder if that was part of the stuff that was stolen and I guess they just never replaced them?
Anyone know where I can do more of those renogram puzzles(at video time 1 hour 20 minutes) online? I'm not finding anything in my searches, is it called something else?
Day 4 and 5 were nice...1-3 was a waste as someone who listens to all the podcasts through the year. Bring back fun categories and have more group videos this year, please.
I loved this year's format. I don't want to hear them haggle, trade and argue for 10 hours but I love listening them talk about games(I also listen to all the podcasts through the year) so I listened to 1-3 and skipped 4 and 5. It was perfect.
