As huge as Final Fantasy is and how big I fan I was of Squaresoft / Square Enix, I really think its time for the franchise to take a long time out. Feels like Call of Duty 13.
Personally the only issue I had with the game is the cash grab Prothian DLC character. The more I hear and see on this game the more I'm glad I boycotted it & decided to buy any future Bioware games used for the time being. I think its reaching a bit to think there is a "real ending" DLC that's out there they expect people to pony up for, but man, IF there is. Hooo boy.
Pre-ordered here. The combat is this MMO's highlight everything else seems like standard MMO ass MMO stuff. There's a player political system as part of the end game, while different (yey) I'm not quite sure how the the details of the mechanics will work...could suck?
It was alright, did not like the corpse-like stiff upper body Shepard or the running animations, the targeting felt quite a bit quicker than in ME2, I found myself over compensating and would move cross hairs past the target and then under compensating after realizing this and stopping before I was lined up. I even went back and played part way through an ME2 mission right after I finished the demo and had a much easier time shooting. I'm also not to keen on the rolling and cover button being mapped to A, I got into cover a few times when I was trying to roll away from a grenade. The kid thing was a bit over done, strikes me as a bit out of character if anyone played a renegade.
Yeah, yeah, I know you want to hear from people who are still playing but I just canceled tonight and moved my money to Giant Bomb instead. 1 year go! You guyses give me more infotainment anyway.
@jmrwacko: I agree, but if this game started development 4 years ago(?) that puts it around 2007 and The Burning Crusade release. I can see a bunch of rich old dudes sitting around the board room looking at graphs and wanting to copy as much of the winning formula Blizzard was dishing out. Makes sense when risking millions, 200 million of them. Maybe someone even said "Will people still be jazzed about playing this type of thing 4 years from now?", but it fell on deaf ears. By the time WoW started bleeding subs it was to late.
