Well done, Mento! Looking forward to what you come up with next. I'm playing through Sleepy dawgs now and I think they patched out that bike helmet thing. My Wei rides around recklessly without it. Either that or I'm wearing special dlc emo hair that he doesn't want to ruin.

Thanks for review, I was worried this was one of those punishing meat boy/spelunky platformers. Are there any minigame or hot hat action to break up the platforming?

Wow, this is like the #X-E IRC I haven't logged into since 2002.

That De Blob 2 comic was way funnier than it had any right to be. I find it weird that everyone is jumping on the Witcher bandwagon. I don't remember people talking about it when the first one came out on the Neverwinter Nights engine and the second one's story was a direct sequel. I wonder how people are going to react to the Wild Hunt storyline from the book and which is only briefly mentioned in the games.

Thanks for the funnies, Modento.

Maine

Moxie and Whoopie Pies! That box is DEFINITELY from Maine.

I would just say from the Northeast. I can say for certainty that Moxie is based in New Hampshire because I happen to be drinking a bottle of Moxie right now (and I'm in upstate New York), and Whoopie Pies you can find all around the Northeast. The maple cream seems like something you'd find in one of those super old shops in downtown Boston. Basically I am 100% certain that those things came from the Northeast but I couldn't say what state exactly although I'm sure someone must be familiar with that make of Whoopie Pie which would clue us in. Also I really wanted them to drink that Moxie warm because if any drink needs to be cold it is Moxie.

Sort of. Moxie was invented in Massachusetts but it is the state drink of Maine and they have an annual Moxie Festival in Lisbon Falls, Maine. I think they are headquartered in New Hampshire now. But Moxie and whoopie pies I would say are most closely associated with Maine (and don't even start with those Pennsylvania people who think they invented whoopie pies). That mailbag may have come from anywhere in the Northeast, but I deem it a Maine-ass mailbag. And now I want a damn whoopie pie.

Call subs Italians and we'll have the Maine regionalisms all up in this.

Don't have time to watch it right now, but if this is about those unreasonable people who whined about National-Socialist imagery in Luftrausers, then we are wasting our time acknowledging their existence.

All this new "Um, these games have super problematic content" people, are just a new generation of trolls, who is just fishing for a reaction.... Hell, I'm even falling for it right now by writing this post!

The problem is, that the insistent whining over everything, eventually drowns out all the real issues and that's why we all need to put a stop to it and call them out.

I really sympathize that strangers on the internet having a civil conversation about historical imagery in art stresses you so much.

Usually I like Art Games™, but I thought Shelter was just too shallow. The entire game is just the combination of two things people hate 1) stealth and 2) escorting.

Great, and now you know how to Japan!

Has anyone noticed the particularly phallic shape of that archipelago-cum-exclamation point in the title card? I'm truly sorry, Mento. I didn't know, I just didn't know.

They really took some liberties with this Japanese reimagining of Gone Home.
