I like reviews of games because they can offer a perspective that I didn't think of and give me in-depth looks at games along with a new game for me to check out, so these are the ones I like and the ones I recommend you check out:

Joseph Anderson: long form looks at games, very detailed and encompasses the whole experience of a game (though not going to lie, he can be boring at times when the he's just describing the plot beats)

Thinreaper Also very good, particularly his Hitman Absolution review, where again he looks at the whole experience in-depth and some overlooked games

Novacanoo: Might be my favourite of the bunch due to his focus on game mechanics, systems, and level design, with his look at Uncharted and The Last Of Us being the ones I recommend you check out.

SuperBunnyHop: This channel goes back a few years but just all around good reviews that I think strike a good balance between being consumer focused recommendations and in-depth critique, along with some videos on the gaming industry.

Raycevick: I discovered him very recently, but he is good. I've run out of ways to say "this guy's good".

Turbo Button: This guy looks at specific mechanics and aspects of certain games and their design.

I recommend all these guys and like to hear their thoughts on game design. What do you think of them and are there any channels you'd like to add?

@billmcneal: Yeah, it was a good movie. However I think it suffers from not being in the first person so Watney's thought processes and macguyvering explanations are given less detail. But I found the characters and their actors very enjoyable and it was also nicely paced and shot. Good movie, really good book, good story.

It was the Martian. I liked it enough, I liked seeing Watney's thought processes and figuring out survival problems 1 step at a time. Not the best prose, but a nicely optimistic piece of hard sci-fi. 4/5.
