And that's the final nail in the coffin. Well, it's been an amazing 13.5 years. Torn up about having to say goodbye to one of my favorite sites. Thank you all for the wonderful childhood memories. I've been a member starting in high school, throughout college, grad school, and 4 years into my job. I'm almost 30 now... man, how time flies when you're having fun! We'll miss you Dan! You were definitely the spark that brought Giant Bomb to life after Ryan's passing. Every one of my favorite beastcast moments involved you in some way. You are hilarious and your energy is infectious. I'm sure wherever you end up will value you just as much as we do!
lol @ people playing armchair psychologist trying to paint Dan as a manipulative chronic abuser or some shit. It's sad. They're all grown adults; they can make their own well-informed decisions regarding what or what not to do. Plus: it's a bit of a spicy chip. People eat spicy foods all the damn time. God if they brought back Kessler and Steve as guest appearances for an episode, I'd die happy. I loved their full playthrough of Condemned, and was bummed out when they didn't finish Condemned 2. Btw Abby should play through Condemned 1.
I love whenever Dan talks about marijuana. First it's the "weed smoke blurs the logos on rapper's hats" thing, now it's "marijuana smoke is blue also we have to call the cops." Giant Bomb attracts all the NARCs!
lol I think it's pretty telling how much everyone is focusing their attention on Abby's opinion on Bayonetta rather than something else like Alex's dislike of the Metroid series. She dares have an opinion on a game! Scandalous!
Not sure how these are equivalent at all. Alex says a series is overrated and he just never got into them that was it. Abby says she doesnt like a series because the character doesnt fit her political stance then admitting she hasnt played it while also basically shutting down the others when they try to have a discussion.
I have never played Bayonetta and for all i know the character is a step backwards for women in games but if someone feels so strongly about what this character represents i would expect more information other than what can be gleaned from a trailer.
It's equivalent because they both wanted to list a game series that they particularly didn't like despite it being liked by many others. I don't know why Abby's own personal opinion is any different than Alex's (or any less valid, for that matter), politics be damned. All I'm saying is it's sad that everyone concentrates on Abby's one opinion that lasted all but a minute on the podcast - the fact that you responded to me further emphasizes that.

Either I'm crazy or Dan claiming he's "whatever the opposite of a germaphobe is" is INSANE AS HELL. Hasn't he been very freaked out by stuff on the podcast(s) before? Or am I just misremembering and it was just bugs in dates?
It probably isn't like, a clinically diagnosable level of it, but yeah, there have been several times on various podcasts where Dan has seemed very particular about cleanliness, in a way that is above and beyond what a typical American human would care about.
I think it's a very specific case of food weirdness whereas Dan doesn't seem to mind washing out buckets of popcorn and worse yet beverages straight out of the garbage but won't eat figs because there is 0.2% wasp remains in them or whatever.
I'm also reminded of the time when he detailed why he doesn't use any public restroom toilets, instead holding it in all day until he can go in the leisure of his own house. Eating out of the garbage? That's okay I guess. Sitting down on a public toilet? Now that is just going too far!

Steve Lin and Jeff have known each other for a good amount of time now. Steve has actually helped Jeff out with arcade stuff before, including fixing one of his machines. I think other members of the crew have been helped out by him as well. He's an all-around helpful dude.
