Me - 1 Microsoft - 0

My previous blog was E 74 error. Well my baby is back and business and here's how I did it.

I put two screwdrivers in both fans blocking them from spinning, unplugged the hdmi cable, and let the console overheat. All the lights started to flash and the console powered down. I turned it off, removed the screwdrivers, and plugged the hdmi cable back in.  Powered it up she's all well. For a while at least...

So, isn't this similar to the towel trick? Won't it just break again in 2 weeks?

yeh because the Ps1 didn't have a crappy laser that broke and made you turn your console on its side.

Ok nevermind you're all right. This generation is obviously not the worst for broken consoles, it's always been as bad as it is now. Congratulations, you know more than statistics.

It's not that older consoles were built more reliably and they just don't care anymore - there was WAY less technology, heat, and fast-moving parts in older consoles. As technology advances, things get more complex and are a lot more likely to suffer some kind of failure.

That may apply to some cases, but it's still not an excuse. Also as technology advances so does the ability to prevent consoles from breaking.

Also, the red ring of death was caused from Microsoft trying to save money, and Sony's YLOD was just a terrible error in craftsmanship in the creation of the console, something that anyone with a screwdriver can fix. You don't sauder the wiring for the power supply to the console and fan to the base of the motherboard/cpu. Fucking shit's gonna melt.

i remember when my fat ps2 stopped reading blue discs (meaning no ICO for me) for no apparent reason.  it would read normal sliver discs just fine, but wouldn't even load blue ones.  never figured out why...

A friend's Gamecube stopped working in someway, somehow.  Then he rolled it down a flight of stairs for fun.  Then it worked again.  That thing had to be made of magic.

well nice job on that. i guess it is better. i had rrod, E74, and E68. damn microsoft had a horrible console. i still play it though. i have an extra fan sucking in air right above the CPU heat sink.

i miss where consoles were good. the ps2 had read disc error but it was still good. it happened after like 4 years of playing it. it is a lot better than microsoft's xbox 360. i had it happen both times a year after owning them.

I think the longest running consoles that I have are my NES from when it was released, and my PS2 which I got on October 26th, 2000 (the U.S. release launch). After that come my launch Wii and PS3.

I love jerry-rigging consoles just to make sure they continue working. Especially the 360. I don't know what's up with that one, but damn. Just god damn.

You just voided your warranty by melting that shit even more, and it WILL break again in not too long. You will have to pay for repairs. I'd say it's Microsoft 10, You -1.

For the record the Gamecube is probably the most durable console made. There are YouTube videos of it being abused and took a beating, but it still works.

Get a slim, your problems will be fixed.

Is your warranty still on it? If it is, wrap it in a towel and force a RROD on it so MS will take it. If it's not, do it anyway if it conks out again lol

Ah...people that don't read. Gotta love it. My Xbox was already out of warranty. I purchased it on 11/07. Had you read my previous blog post as I stated in this one you would have known that.
