The chaos and fun of Saints Row is fully intact in the underworld, but a new setting can only go so far.
Dimensions recaptures enough of Geometry Wars' thrills to stand as the best new dual-joystick shooter in quite a while.
The little mushroom man finally gets his name on the marquee, and the result is a charming, unique, and puzzle-heavy adventure.
I still need to pick up Dark Souls! D: I've got Demon's Souls and I'm having such a blast, but I really want Dark Souls as well. :c
"Instead, I found a game that's difficult primarily because the controls are shit."
While I do mostly disagree with that statement, my dear you should be glad that you got it after the major patches. Seriously, the lock-on system pre-patch was utter crap and made one boss fight in particular so needlessly harder because of it.
Also one tip: go hunt for the Gravelord Sword. Regular bows are seriously nerfed from Demon's Souls and magic is limited with no existing item to restore it, so a strong melee weapon is necessary. The sucky part is the grinding you'll have to do in order to use it if you don't have the necessary stats but it's a terrific weapon, especially when upgraded - you can even stagger some of the biggest foes using two handed strikes before they even have a chance to swipe at you.
I'm curious to see what you'll ultimately think of the game though. I have to say I seriously favored Demon's Souls over Dark Souls until later parts in the game.
It's a good thing you've played Demon's Souls before Dark Souls, coz somehow the tutorial in Dark Souls tells ya even less basics than the one in Demon's Souls :P
Also you can carry infinite items in Dark Souls, so happy looting when you get your hands on it!
Maybe you were just spoiled by easy controls, so you couldn't handle the hardcore controls that is Dark Souls!
Okay, I'm trolling.
