@magmamud: Oh my gosh, thank you so much! Mixed-Up Mother Goose is it! I couldn't remember the full title to save my life and my search game is pretty weak. So glad I tried posting here. I know it's weird, but you finding the name of the game has made my day.

Get Out-5/5, if possible see it in a full theater. As a fan of suspense and thriller movies, Get Out hit all the right notes for me. As a black person, it hit almost all of my daily anxieties and transgressions I deal with trying to maneuver my way through America. Obviously the plot is played up for dramatic effect but the overall goal to have the audience see the horrors of subtle racism was dead on. Some of the best moments actually come after watching the movie as you talk with others about how they interpreted different scenes and how they may relate (or not) to their own personal experience. I feel like I need to watch Get Out a second time due to a recent interview GQ had with Jordan Peele, the director, where he talked about parts of the movie I missed. Stay Woke!

Greetings all,

+The game I can't remember is a DOS game on the Commodore I believe from 1989 (may not have been produced in that year but that's the year I played it).

+It's a fantasy rpg game centered around Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes and involves the main character doing different fetch quests to fix the broken rhymes.

+You can choose to be a boy or girl and there are options to choose your race as well, your character wore pajamas

+There were difficulty levels but there was no death

Thank you all and I wish I had more to add but my current memory of the game ends there. I just remember having fun figuring out the puzzles and having the option to play as a character who looked like me. I've been searching for this game for a while to share with my students. If I can remember more or if I find the game I will add to this post as soon as possible. Have a good day!

@crackity_jones: That's wonderful! Right now I've found that games like Mario Paint and Wii Sports which encourage creativity and positive social skills is a good ice breaker for most typical kids and those on the spectrum. However games like Minecraft can do the exact opposite. It's a very engrossing game, most kids I've worked with become blind to any outside stimuli. The challenge I have now is helping kids who may have limited speech or are non-verbal. Feel free to let me know if you have any play or art strategies you like to use.

Hi Duders and Dudetters(?)

My name is Erin but my screen name here is Plummie, it's an old family nickname. I've been lurking around for a couple of years and occasionally join in chat during UPF. Been enjoying video games since I watched my aunt play Centipede on Atari. When I was little, I was so proud of myself for beating Bowser on SMB, I called her to brag! I hail from Maryland where I work as a school social worker. Formerly worked as a therapeutic foster care social worker in Baltimore and DC. Right now I'm researching techniques on integrating video games in play therapy for children on the autism spectrum. Currently I've been playing GameCube, Wii, 3DS games and Pinball when I can get out to my local arcade. I am a Nintendo fan at heart and can't wait for the Switch.

GB is full of rad people and ideas and it's been neat to watch it grow. Nice to meet everyone!
