Ok, I need some thoughts. I pay for digital cable and Internet and I do not own a PVR. If someone downloads a new episode of LOST when in actuality anyone can watch the show online on the website, is it piracy? Secondly, let’s say someone owns a DVD collection of a TV series and wants to make a digital media server and does not want to rip the discs in fear of damaging the original discs. Is it piracy to DL a torrent of the collection for his/her personal media server? Lastly, is it piracy to DL emulators previous the snes era? I fully understand that DLing games like Fallout 3, /anynewgamethatyoucanstillbuy and I would never do that but some issues on piracy still confuse me.

If someone owns lets say, a DVD collection of a television series and wants to make a digital media server of the shows but doesn't want to rip the discs to the computer in fear of damaging the original cds, is it piracy to download a torrent of the same DVD collection only it will be in purely digital form? Lastly, is it piracy to have old school emulators previous the snes era? I know it is wrong and illegal to DL games like Fallout 3, /anynewgamethatyoucanstillbuynow and I personally would never do it but some issues regarding piracy still confuse me.
