Games cost money. It this economy, I can't afford to just buy games I think look good. I want to know if my money is going to be well spent.

Meaning, they're not considered to be overrated by people who have played them. Which of the following games deserve the critical praise they receive, and aren't considered to be overrated (by more than those few people who say games are overrated just because they're popular -- the game(s) not the people.) The number next to each game is it's gamerankings score. (Note - the Xbox 360 version of some games might have higher gameranking scores, but that doesn't matter because I'm not concerned with minor technical differences. The single player gameplay, which is what I care about the most, across each console is pretty much the same). I chose these games because (1) they are some of the highest rated PS3 games on Gamerankings, and (2) they're games I'm thinking about getting. Yes, I'm one of those gamers who relies on reviews and review scores to purchase games, but I want to know which of these games actually deserve the critical praise they receive. Which ones aren't considered to to be overrated by a substantial group of people who have played them. I'm not really looking for YOU'RE personal opinion. I don't care if YOU think God of War 3 is overrated when the majority of people don't (just an example). I don't care if you think Metal Gear Solid 4 deserves the praise it receives when people, in general, thinks it doesn't (just another example). (This concept might be complicated for you if you don't understand basic logic.)

Now, I posted this topic before, but it got locked because a couple of idiots thought I was a 360 fanboy trying to start a flame war or something, and they whined to a mod. How the hell was I trying to start a flame war? Not once did I say anything about 360 being better than PS3 or PS3 being better than 360, and even if I did, so what?! I have a right to my opinion. If I want to say 360 is better than PS3, or PS3 is better than 360, I should have every right to do so. I hate how these video game forums have become so fascist. I actually left a very facist video game site known as Gamespot and came here with hopes of avoiding unwarranted banning/locked threads because some idiot got their feelings hurt because the misinterpreted what I said. I hope I don't have to go through that crap here. Also, if the morons who thought I was a 360 fanboy, took a look at my screenname, they would see it was PSX2514. Any true gamer should know that PSX was another name for PLAYSTATION. IDIOTS!

Generally speaking, not specific to anyone review publication or site. For example, if a $60 game is given an 8/10, could that same game's score be a 9/10 or even a 10/10 if it cost $20?

@mosdl So? PS2 came out before Xbox and cross platform games were generally technically superior on Xbox, one reason people would prefer the PS2 version is because the PS2 controller was better than the Xbox controller (4 should buttons are better than the 2 triggers plus the black and white buttons, which I hate the placement of, btw).
