Seems very similar to the previous game, there was some positive character development with regards to the darksen racism agenda in the previous game and I'd hoped perhaps new issues could be tackled, but then anime is anime, as much as we expected....
GO DOWN THE STAIRS, BRAD. If you wait for time to expire on the later levels, you get stuck in that tiny room with four enemies. One of those enemies is always a mini-boss, and you don't want to deal with a red or blue dragon in that situation. After Zone 1, it's best to just check the shop and go down the stairs. It's not worth the risk to explore and look for items the further you get.
Actually it's all to do with whether you have killed the floor miniboss or not. If you have, no tiny room of death, if you haven't, tiny room of death.
