GOTY 2012
Horrible year for gaming. I didn't play The Walking Dead or Far Cry 3 or Journey or Darksiders II or Resident Evil 6, all games I wanted to play. Keep that in mind.

By far the best this year had to offer and absolutely one of the best puzzle games I've ever played. There isn't really much more to say.

I'm a Kingdom Hearts fanboy. Sue me. Dream Drop Distance definitely isn't the best Kingdom Hearts game, and certainly not the longest (quite the contrary, in fact) but it's still a solid installment that serves as a great build up to the future of the series. It is one of the best, if not the best Kingdom Hearts game in terms of combat and gameplay, and its story may not be the best of any Kingdom Hearts game, but its many twists and (insane) revelations show that this game was necessary to lead to the inevitable climax of the current story. I mean, the credit sequence literally spells out "This leads to Kingdom Hearts III". That alone earned it a spot on this list.

This game is outstanding. As someone who grew up on the SSX series, I was in love with this game the first time I touched it. Well, the first time I touched it and changed the control scheme from "standard" to "classic". THEN I was in love with it. My poor PSN friends that play this game...I don't think they ever even knew what was coming.

Compared to 1 and 2, Mass Effect 3 fucking sucks. Looking at it by itself, I guess it's alright. Really the only reason I'm putting it here is because I have so much fun playing multiplayer with my friends. Ha, if you told me a year ago that I would be praising Mass Effect 3 for the MULTIPLAYER, I would have laughed. Honestly, I really just can't think of anything else to put on this damn list. Really though, this game is okay. As someone that was so invested in the Mass Effect universe, loving 1 and 2 to death, reading novels and comics, obsessing over the fiction, Mass Effect 3 was a monumental disappointment. And this goes beyond just the crummy ending. The entire game is just kind of...mediocre. Had you told me that a year ago, I would have assumed you were joking. However, this game still managed to be a ton of fun and the fact is, I've poured more hours into this game than the previous two, due to multiplayer (because it sure as hell wasn't the brief single player). So I guess that counts for...something.

As one of the few that enjoyed XIII, I also enjoyed XIII-2, but to a much lesser extent. A fun game for sure, but I personally prefer the original XIII. This one trades story for gameplay. The story kind of sucks really, but at least the gameplay has improved from XIII.

I would say that I'm a pretty huge Assassin's Creed fan. And Assassin's Creed III, well...it's the worst Assassin's Creed. In my opinion, at least. What's with this year and franchises I love coming out with "3" in the title and me not liking them? Well I guess that only happened twice. But that's still two more times than it should happen.

Fun game. What can I say? Grab some friends and try it out, it's not as lame as it seems.

It's okay. But for now, Hot Pursuit is still my number one racing game. I still play that to this day, in fact. That game is so good...oh, what? Right. Most Wanted is pretty cool too.
