A friend of mine is going to take me hiking in the woods this weekend.  He going to show me how to navigate using the compass and some general tips on how not to get lost.  I have wanted to begin doing some nature walks in the past but was always a little concerned about going into unfamiliar terrain without at least some basic navigation skills.  Hopefully this will be a good start.
