Journal of a n00b: Runescape Edition

*This is from an old blog that I used to keep up with. Now I am posting it here just for the heck of it.

A few days ago I began playing Runescape through the suggestion of my youngest, anime obsessed sister. The game has been out for a decade or something like that and is accessed simply by going to runescape.com and creating a free membership or a paid membership that includes extras. I had tried to play it years and years ago but kept wandering off into the wilderness only to be killed by strangers. Through the frustration I ditched the game and continued on with the PS2 or Xbox or whatever I was playing at the time. I'm not too big on MMO's, i've never actually gotten into one, but I have experience playing online with Xbox Live (Halo 2+3, Burnout, GTAIV, etc.) and Steam (Counter Strike, Left 4 Dead).

I have found the world of Runescape to be much different from my previous online experiences. First of all, I have no idea what to do and I am constantly surrounded by people looking for boyfriends and girlfriends. For the most part I have spent my time fighting towel headed people on the side of the road (highwaymen or something), mining rocks, making weapons, selling them for money, and getting killed by chickens and cows. As far as quests go I have been asked to gather ingredients for food, or gather some stones, running errands. Nobody has asked for the head of a jade monkey dragon yet. I have also spent time listening to these strange men who play guitars in the street and are extremely happy to do it 24/7. Look out for more editions of my nonsense.

Nintendo DSi R Button =(

A catostrophic thing has happened. My DSi has to be sent into the big N for service because my R button doesn't respond. I do not know how it happened, no spills, official Nintendo case, and I usually play GTA: Chinatown Wars which causes me to be even more confused because that barely uses the R button. Oh well, into the coffin it will go for a trip with FedEx to Nintendoland. Who knows what poking and prodding and surgery may ensue, but I hope to see it back soon, I got drug deals on chinatown wars to take care of. Until then, back to Far Cry 2.
