Best of 2012

Slightly different this year, didn't have as much time as previous years so I've included older titles released that I played for the first time this year.

Biggest Disappointment

SSX - Sad to single out one game that let me down so completely, really bland to play and was hoping for something that reminded me of the classic games in the franchise - see XCom

Games I need to play more of

Really enjoyed what I played of these but not as much as the top ten - Fez in particular I really need to get back to.

  • Only played the original briefly at a friend's house but in only a week I can't tear myself away from this re imagining - cared more about the deaths in this game than any other this year... except M£%^&^ :-(

  • Didn't think it would be this high, not at the same level as 1 or 2 but was great to catch up with the gang, some simply amazing moments involving Mordin, Garrus, Legion only thing holding it back was a truly spectacular ending that the first two games had.

  • Ironically considering the game above the only let down here was the ending! Great world, characters and really engaging game play.

  • Probably the best first hour of any game this year, so incredibly exhilarating to play though got a bit repetitive as it went on and you worked out the techniques required to succeed every time.

  • My favourite multiplayer game this year, sat on the sofa with my girl wonderfully freeing and the perfect antidote to a bad day at work.

  • Here again, still the best thing to do online with friends and Oli and the FIFA series led to my 2nd favourite moment of the year in any aspect of my life! Football in Sheffield with the Gangwonders!

  • Find this is the marmite game of the year for me, first I love it, then I hate, then I can't stop playing it and now I think I love it again.... don't judge me

  • Simply incredible - so much more than simply a up-rezing of the classic game makes me want HL3 so much more

  • Ok this game was an obsession for 1 week - was a week that I got to play with people I don't normally get to and that was a great experience of 2012 for me

  • The fart sound was, and is and will always be very funny
