Albeit, I still do love me some Battlefield and Halo and just FPS's in general to quench that thirst.

@Ben99: I know man, the games of the SNES, Genesis, PS1, and N64 Era (and arguably the Dreamcast) were so amazing. Since graphics--while desired--weren't the priority, you had to compensate somehow; the story and gameplay mechanics were the resources of compensation.

I'm really regressing my video gaming interests. I'm more interested in the platformers of old (my favorites are the sonics and Mega Man's), some of the JRPG's and Action-Adventures (LoZ kicks some major ass). I also want to reboot some of the old WRPG's on my computer, like Baldur's Gate and NWN.

I'm glad to see someone else who thinks outside this "motion paradigm."

You know, I just don't get video gaming anymore, or at least this direction of gaming. I think project NATAL is probably the most unique when it comes to this pseudo-virtual-reality-sports-game-phenomena. I mean, why not just go do these things in real life with real friends? The money it would cost you to buy a Wii (or hell even a PS3), the controller, the game, and whatever else accessories it comes with, would cost the same as if you bought an Air-Hockey table, a ping-pong table, a bow (albeit mediocre) and some arrows, a fake sword and shield (hell, you could MAKE it for a hellava lot less!), a basketball and go down to the local park, a frisbee, or any of these things that these games are trying to simulate.

Whatever happened to video games being video games? What ever happened with the ideology that video games should be played with controllers (that were more simplified versions of keyboards and mice) and that are incredibly fantastical adventures, maybe historical-fictional (or non-fictional) replicators, sci-fi shoot 'em ups, or paranormal investigations? I mean, seriously.

I probably have more to say on the matter, but as for now, I just can't think of anything.

Peace.

The only issue I might have with this game is the ease to continue a juggle. Juggling is a key aspect in fighting games, but the ability to recover is as well. When you have a game mechanic that not only allows, but ENCOURAGES you to "bounce" an opponent to continue  a juggle...it seems a fruitless endeavor to even try to get out of the juggle. I find this to be a bit ridiculous. How would one escape a juggle like that?

I feel as if people don't understand or are refusing subconsciously to understand why the little "red-blotches" or "red-flares" are in the game after each connecting hit, that's because that's a Tekken staple. It's like the Hadouken from SF, if it wasn't in there all of a sudden in SFIV or if Ryu's was a different color than blue, everyone would flip, but when we see a very similar staple in a new iteration of Tekken, everyone seems to hate it. I personally enjoy the fact that it is still in there, because it makes it feel more like a Tekken game than a DOA or VF knock-off, which is exactly what Tekken was trying not to be.

And as for button mashing, that's very understandable with games like SC and DOA, but Tekken, VF, and or SF? C'mon! Those games are no where near akin to button mashers, infact, in almost all iterations of those games, if you were to press one button, the characters MAYBE and I mean MAYBE do a 3 hit combo at MOST, if that.

@ FTStyle, the whole reason we even got a SFIV was because capcom wanted to reprise its fighting wonder on a next-gen console, why else do we even continuously make new fighting games? I mean, there's not many places to go with innovation other than maybe adding visual damage (Tao Feng anyone?) so what would be the point of making new fighting games other than to hone cleaner animations and enhance the visual aesthetic? I don't think there is any other reason.

There's an old saying, "don't fix what isn't broken." I believe that applies here and anyone saying that it's the "same-old-same-old," with a negative connotation has to understand that if they made any drastic changes, would you even accept it then? What if they took out everything that made it Tekken, but still placed the Tekken title on it, would it really be worth giving credit to?

You have to understand that juggling is a part of a fighting game's design mechanics, it's in all fighting games, I would be amazed (aside from Fight Night and other boxing-like games) to be shown and or told about another fighting game that didn't apply such a mechanic.

The only negative (or rather constructive criticism) comments I have for this game are the graphics and the sound. I believe that one article on a website that the name escapes me at the moment said the music was a bit cliche and or cheesy. It is my personal opinion that the graphics aren't up to par with fighting game standards these days. Then again I haven't seen the game in person, but if we have games like VF5 and Fight Night Round 3 (heck, even Round 4), I believe Namco doesn't have an excuse with the graphics displayed here.  Albeit, again, I haven't seen it in person, so I have no solid verdict on the graphics as of yet.

I will be getting this though, I am a HUGE Tekken fan and I have been trying to find my niche of fighting games on this generation of consoles, and while I have and have played DBZ: Burst Limit, VF5, SCIV, and FNR3, I haven't been able to be truly entertained by any of them. However, I have not played SF4, so we'll see...
